Welcome to my blog

Hello and welcome to Lynda’s Rambles! Hopefully this is not just another blog but one that will interest and inspire you to try something new in life.

It was born out of my attempt to carry out “100 days of walking” in 2021. This was an idea to walk at least 30 minutes per day for 100 days because walking is so good for your physical and mental health. Every day I walked, I took a photograph while I was out on my rambles and posted it to my Facebook page. I started great in January and February 2021 with regular posts but I fell by the wayside in the Spring time. Then in September, a few people commented that they had missed my photos so I decided to start again.

Fast forward to lunchtime on Wednesday 20th October 2021 when I met with the Rev Joanne Megarell from St John’s Church of Ireland in Moira which is my church. She raved about my photos and felt I should expand on them and create a blog to accompany them. So here we are!

This blog will cover two types of rambling:

  1. The walking type of rambling – there will be photos and commentary on what I see as I go on rambles in our beautiful countryside in Northern Ireland whether it is Murlough Beach, Hillsborough Forest or Lurgan Park.
  2. The talking type of rambling – there will be a few thoughts and comments on whatever I feel passionately about. So that gives me lots of scope, doesn’t it?
